And we're off.......
If leaving your house is the official start of a pilgrimage then we have begun. It was a rocky start with our taxi driver almost plowing into a car in front of us. We smelled burning brakes or rubber. Or both. After an uneventful flight over Greenland we are now at a Stansted airport hotel in London to catch our flight tomorrow to Biarritz in France. This hotel has a very cold atmosphere. All glass and steel and high ceilings. In the middle of the lounge there is a 50 ft high glass pillar full of wine bottles. A "cat woman" uses cables to fly up and down to retrieve bottles for customers. Quite unique.

The Pilgrim Prayer
Guardian of my soul,
guide me on my way this day.
Keep me safe from harm.
Deepen my relationship with you,
your Earth, and all your family.
Strengthen your love within me
that I may be a presence of your peace
in our world.
Amen

False Creek and Stanley Park
Jeff and I walked 25.65 K on Good Friday. Around False Creek, into Granville Island (coffee and hot cross bun) and around Stanley Park. It was a glorious day and the walking went well. Feeling encouraged. Granted, there were no hills except for the Burrard Street bridge.
